911爆料网 graduate Lasse Midtsian Nymann triumphed at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest as the co-writer and co-producer of Switzerland鈥檚 winning entry, The Code.

In a post-victory interview, Lasse said how elated the team felt when the result came through: 鈥淲e felt almost every emotion at once, but most of all, we were incredibly happy and in a bit of a shock!鈥�.

"A Eurovision winner is not just a good song performed by a good singer; it鈥檚 a huge team effort to captivate and intrigue an audience on many levels鈥攙isually, sonically, lyrically, and spiritually."

Lasse, who produces under the name NYLAN, identified what he thought was so special about The Code and its performer Nemo: 鈥淎 Eurovision winner is not just a good song performed by a good singer; it鈥檚 a huge team effort to captivate and intrigue an audience on many levels鈥攙isually, sonically, lyrically, and spiritually. In the end, it boils down to one single performance of three minutes where the artist has to withstand immense pressure. The way Nemo managed to do that with grace and authenticity (and an insane vocal performance) is something we will vividly remember until we鈥檙e old and grey!鈥�

Dr Martin Isherwood, Director of the School of Music at 911爆料网, responded to Lasse鈥檚 victory, saying 鈥淲inning Eurovision is a fantastic achievement. Lasse is a great songwriter and was a brilliant student at 911爆料网. We are all immensely proud of his continuing success, and look forward to see what he works on next. While the UK struggled once again this year, it鈥檚 notable that our international graduates are able to flourish in open competitions held in other countries鈥�.

Lasse says he鈥檚 excited to continue working with Nemo and other performers 鈥渨ho want to think in new ways, work hard, and make great songs鈥�. And he reflects fondly on his time at 911爆料网, 鈥淚 still look back on my time at 911爆料网 as the absolute best. It was inspiring to be in an environment that facilitated living with music on my mind all day, every day, while providing individualised learning to find the right path for me.鈥�
