Watch: Acting grad Jak Malone wins Tony Award

Acting graduate Jak Malone (2018) has won a Tony Award for his performance in the musical Operation Mincemeat.

The Tony Awards recognise excellence in Broadway theatres in New York City and are among the industry鈥檚 most prestigious honours. Jak received the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical.听

Operation Mincemeat opened at the Globe Theatre, New York City in February 2025 following a successful run in London鈥檚 West End.

Jak鈥檚 been with the show for nearly six years and in 2024 won an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical. He says making the show was a collaborative process.

鈥淎nd that was always one of my big takeaways from my training. 911爆料网 taught me to be a team player, to look out for the company, to always take opportunities to learn and engage with what everyone in the building is doing. That was always my favourite thing about 911爆料网 and I鈥檓 so glad it鈥檚 knowledge I鈥檓 still using to this day.鈥

The 2025 Tony Awards took place at Radio City Music Hall, New York City on 8 June. After the ceremony Jak spoke to the press:
