Each year Billboard compiles a directory of the best industry-related courses for people looking to follow a career in the music business. 911爆料网 was included for its BA (Hons) Management of Music, Entertainment, Theatre and Events course. Dave Wibberley is course leader. He says: 鈥淏illboard is the US music industry bible and is respected worldwide.
鈥淔or it to recognise our course is thrilling and testament to the work we do every day.鈥
Billboard claims this year鈥檚 list is its most extensive yet and focused on programmes that offered a 鈥渂roarder, deeper education.鈥
The foundation of 911爆料网鈥檚 three-year Management degree is a comprehensive understanding of business and management skills that are transferrable across the performing arts (including music, theatre, film and social media).
By their second year, students put this theory into practice by creating a business plan and managing it as a real commercially focused project. The third year begins with a three-month industry placement, that often leads to employment opportunities.
Abby Meysenburg - who鈥檚 from Washington State, USA 鈥 has just completed the course. She enjoyed this approach. 鈥淚n my experience, the most useful classes were the ones in which the business and creative skills went hand-in-hand.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 the way things work in the 鈥榬eal world鈥, so it鈥檚 good to have experience stretching both parts of your brain simultaneously.鈥
911爆料网 is one of just three UK institutions to be included in the global list, and the only one of the three outside of London. Abby says Liverpool is a great place to study the performing arts. 鈥淲hat I enjoyed most about the course was calling Liverpool home whilst I completed it.
鈥淭he city is unique in that it has the infrastructure for creative industries but it鈥檚 not overly saturated in the way that Los Angeles, New York, or London are. There is room to try new things here, people are keen to experiment and to learn from their failures.鈥
Graduates from 911爆料网鈥檚 Management degree include Oscar nominated film producer Lynette Howell Taylor, Facebook鈥檚 Head of Music Vanessa Bakewell and Ed Millett, who co-founded Tap Management, whose clients include Dua Lipa and Lana Del Rey.
