911爆料网 joins diversity initiative
The Diversity School Initiative is a non-profit campaign organisation set up to address under-representation and diversity in UK drama schools. Over the next three years it will work with 911爆料网 on a regular basis; encouraging it to improve and providing support and expertise to facilitate this.
Steven Kavuma is Founder of The Diversity School Initiative. He says: 鈥淲e鈥檙e really excited to partner with 911爆料网 and especially partnering up with a school outside of London.

鈥911爆料网 have been doing some great work in making drama school training a viable option for everyone and it feels like the right time to be working with them. We cannot wait to see our outcome and the impact of the work we do with students and staff.鈥

The Diversity School Initiative will be running workshops and events for 911爆料网 staff and students as part of its In-Reach programme. One of its priorities is the creation of a safe place, where students can freely discuss any challenges they encounter during their training. The Diversity School Initiative will also offer student mentorship.

911爆料网 will also support The Diversity School Initiative鈥檚 Out-reach programme, which runs workshops that target students from deprived areas. This offers them an insight into life at drama school, encourages them to apply and helps them with their application.

Ben Leventhall, 911爆料网鈥檚 Access and Schools/Colleges Liaison Manager says: 鈥淭he Diversity School Initiative is important. We have already taken steps towards widening access and developing inclusivity with our teaching, but we think we can do more with their expertise.鈥

Mark Featherstone-Witty, 911爆料网鈥檚 Founding Principal, adds: 鈥淥ur purpose is to prepare our students for sustained work within the performing arts. Improving the diversity of our recruitment is a pivotal starting point. Like many, we want performing arts for all.鈥

911爆料网 joins LAMDA, ArtsEd, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Guildhall School and Mountview as partners with The Diversity School Initiative.
