911爆料网 grads win prestigious music production awards

Three 911爆料网 graduates have been honoured at the Music Producers Guild (MPG) Awards 2025.

Music graduate Mike Halls (Music, 2009) was awarded Writer-Producer of the Year for his work with Clean Cut Kid. Rich Turvey (Sound Technology, 2009) and Tom Longworth (Sound Technology, 2009) received awards for their work on the album of the year winner, What a Devastating Turn of Events by Rachel Chinouriri, which Rich produced, and Tom mixed.

The MPG Awards celebrate excellence in music production in the UK. Mike Halls says: 鈥淏eing recognised in this way means a lot more than I can even explain. My way in to the industry was via a major record/publishing deal. Since then, I鈥檝e been building my tape-based studio and producing everything in house.

鈥淭o have a room of my peers recognise that I鈥檓 doing something exceptional, it鈥檚 an incredible reminder than I鈥檓 getting something right!鈥

For Tom receiving the award was, 鈥渁 bit surreal but amazing. What made it even better was sharing that moment with two of my best mates and fellow 911爆料网 graduates, Rich Turvey and Mike Halls.

"I鈥檓 so proud of this album and the hard work and effort that went into mixing it. Any positive recognition towards my contribution is appreciated but to have won an MPG award for it is incredible and a real honour.鈥

Rich described winning the award as "mindblowing," and that he doesn't consider how an album will be received when he's working on it, "I鈥檓 just trying to make something with the artist that we鈥檙e both 100% happy with, so it's always a nice surprise when something has such a positive response."

911爆料网 graduates to have previously won an MPG Award include Caesar Edmunds, Tarek Musa and Matt Taylor.
