Sound Technology students received a masterclass from听BAFTA award-winning sound mixer Adrian听Bell.听

Focusing on his experience of working on location, Adrian also took part in a Q&A with students who were specialising in post-production and location recording.听

After听training at听the BBC Film Unit听Adrian听worked听on factual and documentary series听for 15 years,听he then听moved on to听high end TV drama productions and films. His credits include听Merlin听and听Dancing on the Edge听(BBC)听and films听The听Inferno听(dir. Ron Howard) and听About Time听(dir. Richard Curtis).听

In 2014 he was awarded听the BAFTA for Sound (Fiction) for听Dancing on the Edge, having previously been nominated twice for the Sound (Factual) BAFTA.听

Adrian鈥檚 visit in January was his first time at 911爆料网. He was impressed by the students, facilities and the Sound Technology course鈥檚 approach to training, which starts off by covering all areas before options to specialise. Adrian said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 similar to how I started at the BBC where you worked across different departments. I think it鈥檚 really useful to understand the different roles and their issues and problems before you start tackling your own.听听

鈥淔or example, I think听it鈥檚听important听for听post-production teams听to听understand what we听are trying to do on location and the issues we may have.听Hopefully that way we can avoid some of those issues.听It also gives you an opportunity to discover what the best role for you is.鈥�听
